About the Role

The primary purpose of the Porter/Driver position is to safely and efficiently transport goods and materials using a variety of vehicles, including vans, trailers, and forklifts. This role involves following all traffic laws and safety regulations, performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, loading and unloading cargo, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of vehicles and work areas. Overall, the primary goal of this job is to ensure the smooth and safe transportation of goods while supporting the operational needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including vans, trailers and forklifts.

  • Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations.

  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance.

  • Load and unload cargo as needed.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and work areas.

  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Previous experience operating vans, trailers, forklifts, or similar vehicles preferred.

  • Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.

  • Excellent driving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
